This website is operated by Fairfield Fireplace Service LLC, a fireplace and stove service business working in North Jersey.

What you may give us

We do not ask you to create an account, and you can read every page of this site without telling us anything about yourself.

If you fill in the Request Service form, we ask for:

• Your name
• The address where the work would happen
• A phone number
• An email address, if you would rather we email you than call or text
• Which of Call, Text or Email you prefer
• What kind of unit it is — gas fireplace, wood stove, pellet stove, gas logs or chimney cleaning
• The make or model, if you happen to know it
• Whether the unit has a remote control, where that is relevant
• Roughly how old the unit is, if you know
• A description of what is wrong
• Photographs, if you choose to send them

Only your name, the address, a phone number and the description are required. Everything else is optional, and the form works without it.

You can also reach us by phone or email without using the form at all. If you do, we have whatever you tell us in that call or message.

How we use it

We use what you send us to:

• Reply to your request
• Work out what the job involves and whether we can do it
• Arrange a visit and talk to you about scheduling and the work itself
• Look at any photographs you sent, so we arrive knowing what we are looking at
• Keep ordinary business records of work we have been asked to do
• Keep this website working and protect it from abuse

What happens when you send a service request

When you submit a service request, we use the information you provide to review your request, contact you, and help arrange service.

If you include photographs, they are stored privately and made available to us with your request. The photographs are not publicly listed.

We use service providers to operate the website, help prevent automated abuse, provide optional address suggestions, deliver service-request notifications, store photographs, and display customer reviews.

If a service request cannot be completed, the website tells you that it was not sent. Photographs uploaded as part of that failed attempt are removed.

When we contact you

If you send a service request, we may use the phone number or email address you gave us to get back to you about that request.

Sending a request is not a sign-up. It does not put you on a mailing list, and it is not permission for promotional calls, texts or email. This site has no newsletter and no marketing list.

What this site stores in your browser

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Two small things are stored by your own browser, and both are cleared when you close the tab:

• A note on the home page that the opening animation has already played, so it does not replay every time you navigate back
• A draft of the Request Service form, so a refresh or a step back does not lose what you typed. Photographs are never part of that draft.

Neither is sent to us, and neither is used to recognise you. Closing the tab removes both.

Services we use

• Cloudflare provides website hosting, security services, request processing, and private storage used for photographs submitted with service requests.
• Geoapify provides the optional address suggestions in the Request Service form. As you type an address, the address text you enter is sent to Geoapify so it can return possible matches. You can ignore the suggestions and enter the address manually.
• Google provides email services for our business inbox and supplies the Google review information displayed on the Reviews page.

The Reviews page and the Request Service form are separate parts of this site. Neither passes anything to the other.

Reviews from Google

Our Reviews page can show publicly available rating and review information that Google makes available about our business listing.

That content is written by other people and published by Google. We do not control what a reviewer writes, which reviews Google chooses to show, the order Google puts them in, whether they are available at all, or the policies Google applies to them.

Advertising and tracking

We do not sell service-request information or use it for advertising. We do not hand it to advertisers or data brokers, and we do not build a profile of you.

We do not use advertising trackers or tracking pixels on this website, and there are no social-media trackers.

How long we keep it

We keep what you send us for as long as we reasonably need it: to answer you, to do the work, to keep normal records of jobs we have quoted or carried out, to deal with a question or dispute later, and to meet any legal obligation that applies to us.

If you would like us to delete a request you sent, email or call us and tell us which one, and we will do what we reasonably can.

Photographs

Photographs submitted with a service request are stored privately and are not publicly listed. They are made available to Fairfield Fireplace Service so we can review the request.

Photographs are removed as part of our routine storage management. We do not promise a specific retention period.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us. No website or method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot promise otherwise.

Please do not send us payment card numbers, bank details or government identification numbers through this website. We do not ask for any of them, and there is nowhere on this site to enter them.

Children

This site is for people looking for fireplace and stove service. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us something, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this website handles information, we will update this page and the date below.
